The Biggest threat to our Environment

The biggest threat to our environment is not Global Warming or pollution. The biggest threat to the environment is man. We have done a lot of harm to the environment and most of it may be too late to take back. However, our previous actions to the environment are forgivable. What is isn’t forgivable nor acceptable is our lack of action when it comes to saving the environment.

It is true that many different people around the world are doing their part to assist the environment in every way that they can. But what about the rest of us? We have acknowledged that the environment is suffering and that Global Warming is in fact real. However, we do not do anything about it. We discuss and debate about it and write countless articles stressing the need to save the environment. But we do not do what we individually can do to help our environment. We want to rely on politicians and organizations to assist the environment as we feel powerless in the fight against Global Warming and pollution. However, your simple act of recycling your plastic bottles, throwing that crisp packet in the dustbin instead of the floor, saving energy in your households, is not present.

We are capable of helping our environment, every one of us, but some of us simply do not care about the environment or feel as though there is nothing they can do to help. There is always something one can do, no matter how small your input is, it will assist the environment greatly and as you on you will become more passionate and do greater things. Not everyone is designed to immediately care about the environment, it takes time and the realization that it is what we do that has caused the earth to be the way it is and brought upon us the greatest consequence which is global warming and climate change.

I myself never used to care much about the environment. I constantly stated the fact that one person’s doings will not play such a major role. However I have come to realize that an individual’s input is very important. What you do will attract others, and their doings will attract more people and soon enough you will have an army that is ready to defend the environment and save us from our inevitable doom.
